My Story
Over ten years ago, I began my own journey of recovery from life-threatening, long-term substance misuse. Since then, I have worked in numerous drug, alcohol, and mental health services and treatment centres across Essex, setting up Holistic Giant, my own online and in-person private practice, early on in the hope of inspiring others, and I have been fortunate to counsel hundreds of clients from all over the world.
Throughout this time, I undertook extensive study, graduating with a bachelor’s in addiction therapy from the University of Bath and a master’s in psychology from Northumbria University. Alongside my degrees, I trained as an Integral Yoga instructor, Usui Reiki master, and certified mentor, and became an ordained Buddhist monk. I am also Chairman of the Trustee Board for the Essex Recovery Foundation, a major charity helping clients healing from addiction and mental health issues, and I am one of its founding members. I am currently enrolled on a doctorate in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic clinical psychotherapy.
It has been a long and challenging road, and I have certainly put in the work, but I could not have succeeded were it not for the help and guidance I received from various counsellors and mentors along the way - people who believed in me, even when I doubted myself.
